Taming skill from 0-50

Taming is an awesome skill that allows you to use a wide range of creatures, and go to a lot of places that are otherwise not accessible to many other professions.

First buy up the skill to 30-35 from any NPC stable master that teaches taming, this will save you a bit of time. (Side note, most skills in the game can be taught up to 30 or 35 points from the appropriate NPC) Go to any NPC stable master and say their name (This particular stable masters name was Sharri) and teach. "Sharri Teach"

You can find stables in:
Minoc
Skara
Britain
Trinsic
Serpents hold
Deluca
Paupa

The Npc will then give you a gold amount that their "lessons" will cost, you pay the gold or as much of it as you can. The full amount gives the maximum skill they can teach you, a lesser amount teaches you a little less skill.

Pay them the gold and your done, your skill will raise instantly. This is a great head start in learning a skill.

The best things to start out on once you have 30+ skill in taming is probably hinds, they only require 23 points of taming but more importantly there are TONS of them especially in Delucca (t2a) and southern Moonglow.

You can also try and tame the occasional timber wolf, Hinds will get you to the 35-40 range in a very short period of time, your skill gain at this time is good in both power hour and non power hour training.

Once your at 35-40 you will need to be trying out some tougher animals, I would recommend Boars, go up the west coast of Moonglow island, there are a good amount of boars which require 29.1 skill, and the occasional Llama at 35.1 skill.

Now some people recommend that you would immediately head out to ICE isle and spend your power hours taming the Polar bears and walruses as they only require 35.1 Skill, I strongly disagree with that as your best skill gains will be taming 10-15 points beneath your current skill level, and that applies to power hour as well. You will gain on the failures with power hour which is nice, but even with the failure gain its going to go slow if you are trying to tame things that you can just barely tame. Most people that train up taming fall into this trap, so you may notice a re-occurring theme throughout the guide of sticking to things 10-15 points beneath your skill level unless there is a special situation.

In addition to Boars, tame every horse you see as well, they are the same taming difficulty as boars.

There are other animals such as Ostards and Giant Rats which require 29.1 skill to tame just like boars do, however you will never find enough Ostards in the same spot to be worth your time. You can sometimes find a lot of Giant Rats in the Briton Sewer, however because giant rats and other things in the sewer attack, I wouldn't recommend it.

When you're at 45ish I would head out to ICE island. Your going to get your next 20-25 Points of taming training done here.

Taming is a long road to GM, filled with anticipation, but well worth the effort!
